There’s plenty of things that might have any of us thinking about Charlotte. Maybe it’s the idea of having some nicer weather, or the place could be a better job hub for your career. If family or friends already live in the city, you’ve probably always had the idea of moving there in the back of your mind.
It could even be that an afternoon spent casually looking at Charlotte Houses for Sale made you wonder what life would be there for you and your family. Regardless of how seriously you are considering it, it has to be someone your kids would enjoy as well. With that in mind, what might your children enjoy about a move to Charlotte?
Plenty of Museums
Every kid is different from one another and that means what fascinates one of your kids might completely bore the other. No matter what each member of your family loves, there’s sure to be a museum, or at least an exhibit, that’s going to be right up their alley. A great starting place will be the Discovery Place Science Museum, if there’s even the slightest interest in anything STEM related.
If your little one’s favorite day of the week is race day, they won’t be able to move to Charlotte soon enough as it’s home to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. At the Hall of Fame, your kids will get the chance to not only gain a deeper understanding of the sport and its rich history, but also be able to simulate what a day in the life is like for the professionals who live it.
Carowinds Amusement Park
Just a short drive from the city itself, Carowinds is a year round option for having a great weekend with the kids. If the kids love coasters, a must-see is Fury 325. It stands as both the tallest and fastest giga-coaster, with a height of 325 feet at its peak and reaching a maximum speed of 325 miles per hour.
Keeping in line with the city’s love of NASCAR, there’s also the Dale Earnhardt Intimidator. While it’s not quite as fast or tall as Fury 325, it’s nothing to pass up. A word to the wise, fast lane passes might be worth the investment if this sounds like the perfect place to take your kids week after week, especially when the crowds and heat will be at their peak.
Freedom Park
Sometimes the simplest thing is all you and your family need. Throughout the year, there’s going to be no better way to unwind and have quality time with the kids than to just have your family, nature, and nothing else. Charlotte and the surrounding areas aren’t short on their options for great nature, but few choices come close to Freedom Park. When spending time there, having options is the main attraction.
As it comes in at a whopping 98 acres, there’s plenty of ways to enjoy the day outside all while having your own space. Looking for a simple picnic and nothing more? You’ll be thrilled you choose Freedom Park. Think an afternoon spent on the walking trails would make your kids the happiest? This’ll be a perfect option for that as well.
