Granite

The most commonly used material for countertops in traditional setups is granite. This material looks great with high-end kitchens. It has a smooth stony look that adds more charm to the space. They are even available in designs that resemble a granite countertop or quartz countertop. Also, they are widely used because laminate countertops are a budget-friendly option.

Advantage: These countertops can be installed very easily and are very economical. They do not get damaged or stained easily.

Disadvantage: If it gets cut by any sharp object like a knife, the mark will stay forever.

Wood Countertops

Wooden countertops make the kitchen design appear very elegant and sophisticated. These are quite versatile and can be used in both modern and traditional setups. Besides being the perfect decorative item, wood is very functional. It is heat resistant and you do not have to be concerned about hot pots. Also, it is a durable and sturdy material and can be used for chopping meat even.

Solid Surface

A solid surface is also a good option for countertops. It is a man-made material that is composed of marble dust, acrylic, bauxite, polyester resins, and pigments or epoxy. These countertops do not get damaged easily and the risk of bacteria infestation is eliminated.

Advantage: These countertops are easily available in various colours and patterns. They are resistant to most stains and small scratches can be repaired very easily.

Disadvantage: They are not a very sturdy material. Scratches and cuts happen very easily.
